SUMMARY:2026 Out of the Darkness Walk - Fairfax\, VA
DESCRIPTION:Join hundreds of individuals in the Mosaic District to promote suicide prevention and mental health awareness. This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Fairfax Walk. For two decades\, this event has united survivors\, families\, advocates\, and community members to honor loved ones lost to suicide\, support those facing mental health challenges\, and raise funds for research\, education\, advocacy\, and support programs. \nIn 2025\, nearly 400 Out of the Darkness Community Walks brought together more than 194\,000 participants across the country\, all committed to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. Yet the need remains urgent. In 2024\, 48\,824 Americans died by suicide\, 2.2 million people attempted suicide\, and 14.3 million adults experienced serious thoughts of suicide.
